Project Overview

Royce Onsite Machining responded within one day to a time-critical repair involving a damaged propeller shaft flange face. The condition posed a risk to shaft alignment and coupling integrity, with replacement leading to significant downtime. Our team delivered a rapid on-site machining solution, restoring the flange face to OEM specifications without component removal.

Scope of Work

• Laser alignment and dimensional inspection
• Clocking of the shaft bore to establish the datum
• Precision on-site machining of the propeller shaft flange face
• Controlled material removal within OEM limits (maximum 4.5 mm)

Technical Highlights

• Flatness achieved to 0.05 mm
• Squareness maintained within 0.15 mm
